[AD] You all know that I am a fan of budgeting. There is a real power in the well-thought out budget and I think that everyone should have one.
For those of us that have been budgeting for a while, we may be used to the idea of a few numbers scribbled down on a bit of paper. But it doesn’t have to be this way anymore.
What is Money Dashboard?
Money Dashboard is a clever budgeting app that you can access either on your phone, tablet or laptop.
It looks at your accounts, analyses your payments and help you stay in control of your spending.
Using Money Dashboard for budgeting
One of the best features that Money Dashboard offers is their budgeting tool. It allows you to quickly set yourself targets for different categories.
To make this even easier for you, they show you your average spend. If you were feeling particularly lazy, you could just use that.
In order to maximise the benefits of this app, I recommend you do the following two things before you start creating your budget:
Categorising your expenditure
As you make payments, they will show up in your app. From here you will be able to place them into different categories. For example, food, entertainment and bills.
This means that you can then see how much you are spending in different areas. This links nicely with the budget feature which will show you how much you have left for the month.
Monitoring your scheduled payments
Any regular payments that you have coming out such as rent, mortgage, electricity etc can be labelled as a scheduled payment.
You can then use their “Balance after bills” feature to help you plan your spending for the rest of the month.
How much does Money Dashboard cost?
Nothing. Money Dashboard is completely free for you to use. No charges at all. They make their money by recommending products and services to you for which they may receive a fee.
Is Money Dashboard safe?
Yes! They are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and use bank-level security. This means that they have all the same security features in places that you would expect from your bank. This includes regular testing and inspection by data-security specialists.
Open Banking is a government-backed initiative which provides a secure way for you to connect your financial information and is how Money Dashboard seamlessly connects with your various accounts.
Where can I get the app?
Money Dashboard recently launched their new app: Money Dashboard Neon. You can pick it up from both the App Store and Google Play.
You can also access your information from your computer too, which means that you can manage your money from home and on the go.
What’s your excuse for not having a budget?
With great apps like Money Dashboard around to make budgeting super easy, there really is no excuse.
Take that first step today and let Money Dashboard help you manage your spending and set some targets for the future.
